MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has arrested a man after deputies located an air conditioning unit that was stolen from a senior center.

Michael Dennis Eagerton, 27, of St. Stephen, has been arrested and charged with receiving stolen goods.

Officials say on July 10, detectives with the Berkeley County Criminal Investigation Division successfully recovered a stolen five-ton Daikin Heat Pump air condition unit following an investigation.

According to BCSO, the unit was stolen from the Berkeley County Senior Center located on the 1200 block of Russellville Road.

During the investigation, it was determined the AC unit that was stolen was listed on Facebook Marketplace. Authorities say undercover detectives contacted the seller who was initially identified as “Muchael Eagerton” but was later confirmed to be Michael Eagerton.

Officials reported that Eagerton agreed to meet with an undercover buyer and BCSO responded to the scene of the sale, confirming the presence of the stolen AC unit.

Eagerton was booked at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. BCSO confirms Eagerton has an extensive arrest history that started in 2014, he has been arrested 11 times since then.

These crimes include possession of burglary tools, breaking into motor vehicles, distribution of methamphetamine, and furnishing contraband.
