SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) – A new deputy registrar has taken over at the BMV location in Salem, which is still open and providing the same services.

The former deputy registrar retired at the end of June and the state picked a new one to operate it.

Hollie Smart took over on July 1. Smart is also the deputy registrar at the Wooster BMV.

    The Salem BMV never closed.

Smart understands the importance of the Salem location and being able to keep it open.

“I think it’s great. It’s obviously a blessing for me, financially, and being able to be part of the community. I live in Hanoverton, so I’m not too far,” Smart said. “I enjoy the people and it’s nice getting to meet everybody that comes in this area.”

The Salem BMV is located at 200 E. 2nd St. It’s open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
