LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — The Columbiana County Humane Society is at full capacity and running out of funds.

In an effort to raise money and find some of the animals a home, the shelter was at the Kiwanis Club’s Antique and Craft show on Saturday in Salem.

The money raised will go toward paying the shelter’s outstanding vet bills and caring for the animals it’s still housing.

“Adoptions have been going pretty good, but we still have lots of animals to adopt out — plenty of cats, plenty of dogs. We have about 26 dogs and somewhere in the 80s or 90s with our cats,” said Samantha Johnson with the humane society.

The shelter still isn’t taking in any animals at this time until it can find more safe, loving homes for the ones it already has.
