    Man, teen robbed Salem convenience store at gunpoint: Police

    SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — A man and teen were arrested Tuesday after an armed robbery at a Salem convenience store the previous day, police said.

    Twenty-three-year-old Barry Johnson was booked into the Marion County Jail on first-degree robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges. The 16-year-old boy was lodged in the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center after his arrest.

    Officers responded to the US Market in the 2900 block of 12th ST SE around 10 p.m. Monday after receiving a report on an armed robbery, authorities said.

    Two individuals were caught on camera robbing a store, according to Salem police. (Salem PD).

    “Employees reported they were robbed at gunpoint by two young men who demanded cash and merchandise. The duo then fled the scene in a car,” police said. “Using surveillance video of the incident, officers identified the involved vehicle and suspects.”

    The two individuals were arrested on Tuesday after the Salem Police SWAT team served a search warrant at an apartment in the 1200 block of Peace ST SE. During the search, authorities seized two semi-automatic rifles, ammunition, and some of the merchandise stolen in the robbery.

    Additionally, police determined the car used in the crime was a stolen vehicle.
