Salt Lake City Police report they are investigating a shooting in the ballpark neighborhood where two people were injured.

The shooting happened near 380 West 1700 South at around 5:19 a.m. on the Fourth of July.

Jose Jimenez-Mancilla, 22, was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on six counts of felony discharge of a firearm, and two counts of aggravated assault in connection to the incident, officials shared.

Two men, a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds after the shooting but are both expected to survive.

The 22-year-old man was described to have "serious, but non-life-threatening injuries," as he was shot multiple times while the 24-year-old only suffered "non-life-threatening injuries" and was shot once, police said.

Police said all three men knew each other and got into a fight at the apartment complex shortly before the shooting.

A gun was recovered at the scene and police believe the incident was isolated and there is no danger to the public.

Jimenez-Mancilla is being held without bail.
