SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — In August, the Utah Beer Festival is returning for its 14th year — and this year, the festival is offering more than 200 beers and ciders from more than 70 vendors.

The festival was first held in 2010, and the Utah Beer Festival has been hosted and sponsored by City Weekly since then. On Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18, the Utah Beer Festival will be held at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Our 2022 festival was a great success at The Gateway, so we’re excited to be back,” City Weekly publisher Pete Saltas said. “We learned Utahns want to come together and enjoy the final days of summer with great food, music and of course, beer.”

At the event, people will be able to get beer samples in five-ounce sample mugs, with draft beers available in 12-ounce cups. In addition to beer samples, the event will offer food trucks, merchandise, and a VIP area.

Several businesses at The Gateway will also be part of the festival “to enhance the attendee experience,” a press release for the event said.

“We are thrilled to welcome back the Utah Beer Festival to The Gateway,” Julissa Breslin, The Gateway’s director of marketing, said. “It’s an ideal location to sample brews with our ample outdoor gathering areas and diverse array of merchants that provide additional offerings to guests, making the festival a well-rounded and more enticing experience.”

    Information about tickets

Those who wish to attend the festival have a variety of ticketing options to choose from, from single-day passes, to weekend passes, to VIP passes. Tickets are available for purchase online .

Entry-only passes — starting at $20 — are available for purchase for Saturday and Sunday, but are not available with the weekend tickets. Entry-only passes are also called designated driver tickets, and those who purchase these tickets will be given a “DD wristband,” according to the festival’s website.

Entry-only ticket holders will have the option to upgrade their experience for an extra cost while in the festival.
