SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — A joint narcotics investigation by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety culminated in a major drug bust on Thursday, June 13.

Officers executed a search warrant in the 3000 Blk of Old Post Road, seizing large quantities of methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl pills, marijuana, firearms, an illegal firearm suppressor, and U.S. currency.

The Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, assisted by Customs and Border Patrol, carried out the raid. Investigators arrested James Freeland, 38, who faces charges of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance in the 200-400 gram range, with further charges pending laboratory results. He currently has no bond.

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the public for their support and information, which they say is crucial in their ongoing efforts to combat drugs and crime in San Angelo and the surrounding area.
