The body of a 26-year-old Black Navy veteran is believed to have been found after he told 911 he was running away from a "racist," per Daily Mail .

Jarvis McIntyre , 26, was last seen on June 8 near Holbrook Road in San Antonio, Texas. According to his family, McIntyre had flown from St. Louis to San Antonio to visit his two sisters for his birthday. He was scheduled to head back home on June 9.

Several family members flew to San Antonio on Wednesday (June 12) to put up missing person posters. On Friday (June 14), a body found in San Antonio's John James Park was identified as McIntyre by his mother, Monikki Williams Tippet . Tippet said the tattoos on the body matched her son.

McIntyre's rental car and belongings were found just a block away from the park.

Tippet said her son had called 911 to report that he was running away from a racist. McIntyre's mother believes the Navy vet was hurt because he's Black and gay.

"I want answers now. I want this person found," Tippet said. "They took my baby’s life for no reason.'

The Bexar County Medical Examiner hasn't officially confirmed the identity of the body or cause of death. Police are still investigating the incident.
