Victor Wembanyama Receives Huge Support After Four-Word Message To NBA Fans

Victor Wembanyama celebrated his one-year anniversary with the San Antonio Spurs with a heartfelt message posted to social media on Saturday, and fans rushed to reciprocate the feelings.

"Happy 1 year anniversary Spurs," Wembanyama wrote.

Wemanyama, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, was selected one year ago today, on June 22, 2023.

Since being drafted with the first overall pick, Wembanyama took the league by storm, running away with the league's Rookie of the Year honors and leading the NBA in blocks (3.6), becoming only the second rookie (Manute Bol) to do so.

Recently, a photo of Wembanyama went viral , showing him appearing much more muscular than he was during his rookie season.

"Can’t wait for year 2," wrote one adoring fan.

"The come up is gonna be MAGICAL," gushed another follower.

One commenter even looked deep into the future and predicted a long partnership between Wembanyama and the Spurs.

"Wemby retiring with the Spurs would be so legendary," they wrote.

In his first NBA season, Wembanyama averaged 21.4 points and 10.6 rebounds and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
