Everyone Said The Same Thing About Chris Paul Joining Victor Wembanyama, Spurs

Chris Paul agreed to a one-year, $11 million plus deal with the San Antonio Spurs in free agency on Sunday evening, according to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

With this move, Paul joins an exciting young Spurs team headlined by generational superstar Victor Wembanyama.

Paul's veteran point guard presence will no doubt be a positive for Wemby as he heads into Year 2 of his already-impressive NBA career.

CP3 knows a thing or two about playing with teammates who play above the rim. So when Paul signed on with the Spurs, everyone said the same thing about he and Wembanyama creating the new "Lob City."

"Lob City" is the nickname earned by the Los Angeles Clippers during Paul's era with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

"We've got a new Lob City in Texas!!!" ESPN Australia and NZ wrote on X.

"Chris Paul and Wemby is lob city 2.0," another fan said.

"Wemby and CP3 this year Lob City 2.0," another added.

Gregg Popovich and the Spurs lacked a true point guard throughout Wembanyama's entire rookie season. Wemby and CP3 in the pick-and-roll this coming season should be a scary sight for opposing NBA teams.
