The San Antonio Spurs, clearly, are in no rush to find a franchise floor general to pair with Victor Wembanyama.

After selecting combo guard Stephon Castle with the No. 4 overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft, San Antonio raised eyebrows league-wide by inking future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul to a one-year deal in free agency.

So much for the Spurs targeting a surefire long-term answer at point guard before 2024-25, right? Regardless, don't be surprised to again hear the silver-and-black mentioned as potential trade suitors for Trae Young.

The Atlanta Hawks star reportedly put San Antonio on his "wishlist" of trade destinations coming into the summer, according to Yahoo! Sports insider Jake Fischer.

The Hawks ultimately parted ways with Dejounte Murray this summer instead of Young, re-committing to the latter as their franchise player—for now. No one would be surprised if Atlanta soon revisits the possibility of moving Young, though, realizing a full-scale rebuild is its most prudent path toward sustained success.

Paul, 39, isn't long for the Alamo City. And even if Castle proves himself a building block next to Wembanyama, he boasts the two-way versatility necessary to play with an undersized lead guard like Young in the backcourt.

Needless to say, keep your eyes wide and ears perked going forward for more rumors about Young eventually finding his way to San Antonio.
