Victor Wembanyama is in quite an interesting spot. Despite being a rookie, the lanky star has a ton of expectations on him. From his NBA team the San Antonio Spurs to the French National Team, there are a lot of people who depend on Wemby.

According to Kevin Durant, that pressure will make Victor Wembanyama better.

In an interview with the San Antonio Express, Durant talked about Wemby's position on the French National Team. The Suns star expressed optimism that Wemby will be able to succeed in his expanded role.

“As much pressure as it is for him — they’re expected to do a lot with him in the lineup now — all that is good,” Durant said. “For your growth as a player and a person.”

Much like his role with the Spurs, Wembanyama is expected to be the first option for France. Wemby will be dealing with that pressure as well as the fact that he'll be playing in front of a French crowd.

If his stellar rookie season is anything to go by, it's that Wemby will be able to deliver in the face of pressure. He came into the league as the most hyped-up prospect, and he showed exactly why in his debut season.
