    Multi-city pursuit with stolen vehicle ends in San Benito

    BROWNSVILLE, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Two people were arrested Friday after leading local and federal agencies on a high-speed chase across Brownsville into San Benito.

    The pursuit started at approximately 12:20 p.m. at the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville and ended on Frontage Road, north of Highway 100 in San Benito.

    According to Brownsville police, the pursuit involved a black Chevy truck originating from Harlingen.

    Starr County detention officer charged with making false statements during gun purchase

    During the pursuit, the driver of the stolen truck attempted to strike law enforcement before escaping on foot with the second person.

    The unidentified driver and passenger of the stolen truck were located and arrested.

    No injuries were reported, police add.
