    Phone delays, disruptions due to Spectrum outage

    HARLINGEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A statewide Spectrum outage has left businesses without internet, homes without cable and emergency lines without service.

    The following is a list of cities, businesses and buildings that have confirmed interruptions due to the ongoing outage.

    Hidalgo County

    The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is currently experiencing phone communications issues. They stated that inbound and outbound calls are a hit-and-miss. They added, that 911 calls are not being affected. Those with a non-emergency call can also text information to 911 or call (956) 289-0457.

    City of La Grulla

    The City of La Grulla announced their office phones are currently not in service. City officials advised residents who may need to make a payment, to do so online, in-person or drop-off box.

    Lone Star National Bank

    The South Texas-based bank has confirmed its services across all Valley locations may be limited due to disrupted phone lines.

    Security First Credit Union

    Security First Credit Union has announced they are experiencing a widespread internet service interruption. All nine branches and its call center have been affected.

    South Texas College

    STC is currently experiencing internet outages that is affecting all campuses Valleywide.

    North Alamo Water Supply Corporation

    A Valley water utility company has addressed they are experiencing problems with calls due to the outage.

    Calls made to North Alamo Water Supply Corp. will be directed to a water plant.

    Customers can leave a message to the directed line, according to the utility company.

    The utility company will address customer calls as soon as possible.

    Starr County

    Starr County is currently experiencing phone line outages that may affect emergency calls to 911, according to the sheriff’s office.

    Residents are asked to contact l (956) 487-0311 or (956) 257-0960 in any case of an emergency.

    City of La Joya

    The City of La Joya is currently experiencing phone line outages, according to a social media post.

    “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience as Spectrum works to resolve the issue,” the post stated.

    City of San Benito

    The current outage is affecting all San Benito city departments, including utility payment collections, the city confirmed on social media.
