Some prominent names have been confirmed for
Bellator Champions Series San Diego .
The promotion announced on Wednesday that
Douglas Lima ,
Lorenz Larkin and
Raufeon Stots will all be competing on the card, which takes place at Pechanga Arena in San Diego on Sept. 7. Lima will face
Aaron Jeffery at middleweight, while Larkin will lock horns with
Levan Chokheli in a welterweight clash. Stots, meanwhile, will take on
Marcos Breno at bantamweight in the evening’s co-main event.
Bellator Champions Series San Diego is headlined by a lightweight title tilt between
Usman Nurmagomedov and
Alexandr Shabliy . The card will air in its entirety on Max in the United States.
A former
Bellator welterweight champion, Lima will return to action for the first time in more than a year. In his last outing, the 36-year-old Brazilian snapped a four-fight skid with a unanimous decison triumph over
Costello van Steenis at Bellator 296 in May 2023.
Jeffery, meanwhile, is 3-2 under the Bellator banner. The Dana White’s Contender Series alum last appeared at Bellator Champions Series Belfast, where he was outpointed by current middleweight No. 1 contender
Fabian Edwards .
Larkin returned from a lengthy layoff at PFL 6 on June 28, when he scored a first-round TKO of
Alan Dominguez in a showcase bout. “Monsoon” has lost just once in his last 10 professional appearances.
Chokeli has won three straight promotional appearances, including a first-round knockout of
Sabah Homasi in his last outing at Bellator 299 this past September.
A finalist in the Bellator bantamweight grand prix, Stots has been victorious in 20 of his 22 pro bouts. He rebounded from a loss to
Patrick Mix in the 135-pound final by taking a three-round verdict over
Danny Sabatello at Bellator 301 last November.
Brazil’s Breno has split his first two Bellator outings. The 26-year-old Teixeira MMA & Fitness representative is coming off a second-round submission loss to Sabatello at Bellator 294.
