KATY, TX [July 16, 2024] – At their July 16 Special Board Meeting, Katy ISD Trustees voted to approve a benchmark years of service one-time lump sum payment for its classroom teachers — occurring at every five years of milestone teaching service. During a time of vast teacher shortages throughout the state and country, the Board’s vote was designed to recognize teachers for their years of committed service in teaching.
