The Golden State Warriors' brass promised change in their exit interviews, but said it would take time to figure out exactly what that change would be.

Given the financial and rule constraints the Warriors are facing, Willard & Dibs brought in ESPN's cap expert Bobby Marks to break down the situation.

Marks answered, first, whether the Warriors could keep Klay Thompson while avoiding the luxury tax that Joe Lacob wants to avoid. He said they could, but that Golden State might have a specific price point cut off.

"I still think he's a $25-$30 million player. I really do," Marks said. "Is he for three years? Probably not. But if if the Magic - I'm just giving examples - if the Magic fall short, and they need shooting desperately, would you pay Klay two for 60, two for 50, somewhere in that range? I think he's still a north of $20 million guy."

"Yes, they can," Marks said. "Because if you take if you take Chris [Paul] off, that gets you down to about $141 million. You add $25 million there, it gets you $166 million. The apron is like $177 million. You could still add a couple of minimum guys here. So it is certainly doable. Some of those restrictions that you have right now begin to get lifted and it gives you the more and more flexibility to go out and do another deal if you wanted to."

The Warriors cannot, Marks said, afford to re-sign Thompson and go out and try to acquire a high price-point player while staying under the tax. He also addressed whether the Warriors could potentially move Andrew Wiggins. Listen to the full interview above.
