SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — Marine units with the San Francisco Fire Department towed a disabled pleasure boat and its crew back to dock Thursday. SFFD responded to the incident at 11:13 a.m.

How long will Bay Area heat wave last?

The vessel, according to officials, was out of fuel, did not have a working radio, and was unable to anchor. The 15-foot craft was drifting toward the Bay Bridge and shipping lanes when it ran out of fuel.

San Francisco fire units are working with the vessel’s captain to bring the boat in safely. SFFD’s Fire Rescue Boat 1 is providing the vessel with a courtesy tow, officials said.

Fire officials confirmed that there were no injuries aboard the drifting boat.

“All parties are safe and will get to enjoy the holiday,” SFFD said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
