Klay Thompson has ended his 13-year tenure with the Golden State Warriors. The four-time NBA champion has joined the Dallas Mavericks in a sign-and-trade deal. His future had been a topic of discussion throughout the 2023-24 season. His exit has forced the Warriors to re-tool their roster during the summer, with Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson the headline additions thus far.

During a recent episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” Golden State’s veteran forward revealed Thompson had informed him and Steph Curry of his decision to leave the franchise a week before free agency began.

Nevertheless, Green made it clear that Thompson’s decision to leave the Bay Area may change things on the basketball court, but the relationship they have built outside of basketball won’t change. Golden State’s trio has been together for over a decade, and their chemistry off the court was a significant factor in their dominance on the hardwood.
