San Francisco 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel is shutting down speculation that one of his recent viral Instagram slides was a shot at his teammate, Brandon Aiyuk.

On Tuesday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that Aiyuk had requested a trade from the 49ers. The All-Pro receiver is playing on an expiring contract, and per Garafolo, the 49ers haven't been willing to engage in negotiations since May.

Not long after that news, Samuel posted a slide on his Instagram, which included a meme that said, "Remember who stood by your side as you rebuilt yourself. Those are your people."

Some assumed the post was about Aiyuk, but Samuel quickly shut down that talk in a follow-up post on social media.

"Nothing in my post on my IG slide post has nothing [sic] to do with my brother 11 (Aiyuk). Y’all folks need to chill," Samuel posted.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the 49ers have received trade calls on Aiyuk's availability, but they are telling teams they have no intention of trading the 26-year-old wideout.

It's important to note that Samuel requested a trade from the 49ers as well back in 2022 before signing a three-year extension with the team in late July of that year.

Perhaps the same timetable holds true for Aiyuk. The 49ers' Super Bowl hopes could depend on it.
