After ripping off seven straight wins from the California Classic to Las Vegas, the Golden State Warriors’ undefeated run came to an end on Sunday against the Miami Heat.

With a spot in the Summer League championship game on the line, the Heat were able to put the Warriors away in a back-and-forth contest that featured a thrilling fourth quarter.

Kevin Knox II took over for the Warriors, scoring a game-high 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field with five made three-pointers in 30 minutes before fouling out. Knox added 11 rebounds and two assists to complete an impressive double-double performance.

Yuri Collins, Santiago Vescovi, Quinten Post and Pat Spencer all added 10 or more points, but it wasn’t enough as the Heat rallied to a 102-99 win.

Daeqwon Plowden uncharacteristically struggled for the first time in the Summer League with the Warriors, scoring only five points on 0-for-7 shooting from the field. Plowden had a chance to cut Miami’s advantage to only one with just seconds remaining after he was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer. However, Plowden missed a crucial free throw.

In his second Summer League game, rookie big man Quinten Post recorded his second-straight game with 10 points. The No. 52 overall pick from the 2024 NBA draft went 3-of-4 from the field with two rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes.
