San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has made it clear that he wants a new contract heading into the final year of his rookie deal or he wants to be traded .

It has been an ongoing issue all offseason for San Francisco without a clear ending in sight. ESPN insider Adam Schefter even thinks Aiyuk could hold out during training camp.

"My guess would be that Aiyuk ... doesn't show up to training camp ... and tries to force the issue here," Schefter said on "The Pat McAfee Show." "Then we see if the two sides can work out a deal or whether he wants to continue to be difficult."

It's a situation that most clubs would want to avoid, but All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner believes it proves how special of a team the 49ers have.

"When you're part of such a talented roster, I feel like this is something that goes on every season," Warner said via NBC Sports Bay Area. "It's a good issue to have because, obviously, that means that your players are performing at such a high level that you have to have these kinds of conversations."

Warner isn't the first teammate of Aiyuk's to publicly comment on the situation. All-Pro tight end George Kittle also said that he hopes Aiyuk gets the " money that he deserves ."

Aiyuk is deserving. He has seemingly gotten better every season of his four-year NFL career and is coming off his best season yet in which he reeled in 75 catches for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.

Warner knows Aiyuk gives San Francisco the best chance to win a Super Bowl this year, which is why he'll be happy to have him back once the business is handled.

"It's a part of the business, and so we all just let them handle that," Warner added. "And when he's back, he's back. We'll welcome him with open arms."

Aiyuk, who hopes to become one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL, is set to make just $14.124 million in 2024. The 49ers can change that with still about $31.46 million in cap space, per Over the Cap .
