    Terique Owens.

The San Francisco 49ers made some significant moves in their wide receivers room on Wednesday, but none of them involved star pass-catcher Brandon Aiyuk.

Among the Niners' transactions were signing wideout Jontre Kirklin and waiving Terique Owens with an injury designation. San Francisco also worked out veteran downfield threat Robbie Chosen, according to The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov .

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo had more information about the Owens move. The undrafted free agent is the son of Hall of Fame wideout (and 49ers legend) Terrell Owens.

San Francisco drafted Terrell in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft, and he spent seasons with the organization. The Chattanooga product's career took off in 2000 when he made the first of his five straight Pro Bowls and was named first-team All-Pro in three consecutive years and four out of five campaigns.

Terrell led the league in touchdown receptions three times over his 15 seasons, including a career-high 16 in 2001, and is third all-time in receiving scores with 153. He's also eighth all-time in receptions (1,078) and third in receiving yards (15,934).

The now-50-year-old finished his career with two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, three with the Dallas Cowboys, one with the Buffalo Bills and one with the Cincinnati Bengals. "T.O." was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018 alongside fellow wideout Randy Moss, among others.

Terique started his college football career at Florida Atlantic before transferring to Missouri State. He registered 28 catches for 528 yards with the Bears in 2023 and signed with the Niners over the spring.
