‘Bloody’ maniac allegedly decapitates parents and their family dog

A “bloody” maniac has been arrested after his elderly parents and their family dog were decapitated at their home in California.

Brandon Gerdvil, 41, faces two counts of homicide in the murders of Antoinette Gerdvil, 79, and her husband, Ronald Gerdvil, 77, whose mutilated bodies were found in a “horrific scene” in San Juan Capistrano, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect was identified as the victims’ son, according to KTLA .

Deputies responded to the couple’s residence at a mobile home park on Alipaz Street around 7:30 a.m. July 9 on reports of a “domestic incident,” officials said.

Police investigators described the scene of the killings as “horrific” as both victims were mutilated, according to the Los Angeles Times .

Moments later, law enforcement also received reports of a man covered in blood chasing the maintenance worker from the same San Juan Mobile Estates community where the grisly killings occurred.

Gerdvil had reportedly stolen the maintenance worker’s golf cart and was attempting to flee.

Orange County deputies located Gerdvil on a golf cart along a bike trail near Calle Arroyo and shot the suspect.

Gerdvil was struck multiple times and taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

Authorities said Gerdvil, who lived in the community with his parents, is still in the hospital. He will be booked on two counts of homicide when he’s medically cleared. They added that Gerdvil will likely face additional charges.

Neighbor David Desmond said he saw Brandon fighting with his father the day before.

He described to Fox 11 how the younger Gerdvil was “in his face” and “looked angry” while confronting his father on Monday.

Another neighbor, Bob Demario, also claimed Brandon “had a drug issue.”

“That’s why he lived there and they kept him there,” he added.

Brandon also made several unhinged posts about Jehovah’s Witnesses and shared dissonance music on YouTube — including one on Monday titled “Shots Fired” and another named “Pope on a Rope,” with a picture of the pope being hanged.

Others described the family as friendly and quiet.

“The lady that lived there walked her dog all of the time in the neighborhood,” Tammy Pavese said. “Everybody knew who he was.”

A motive is not yet clear and the police investigation into the slayings is ongoing.

The police officer’s shooting of the suspect also remains under investigation.
