    Singers invited to audition for Canzona Women’s Ensemble

    Auditions will be held in San Luis Obispo and Shell Beach

    – Canzona Women’s Ensemble has announced auditions for their fall concert, “Songs of the Americas,” scheduled for Aug. 15 in San Luis Obispo and Aug. 17 in Shell Beach. The ensemble seeks enthusiastic singers with previous choral experience who share a deep passion for music and community.

    Auditions are open to women with prior choral experience who are eager to showcase their vocal abilities. Canzona Women’s Ensemble is specifically looking for individuals who possess a strong sense of musicality, dedication, and a desire to contribute to the ensemble’s success. Auditions will consist of a prepared solo piece of the singer’s choice, sight-reading exercises, and vocal range exploration.

    Canzona, San Luis Obispo County’s all-women’s choral ensemble, features the sound of women’s voices with two concerts per season, one in the fall and one in the spring. The ensemble collaborates with many other artists on the Central Coast, including poets, composers, dancers, and musicians of all ages, bringing the power and beauty of women’s choral repertoire to the community. Canzona was conceived and brought to life by artistic directors and co-conductors Cricket Handler and Jill Anderson in the summer of 2009.
