Chalk festival brings pop of color to St. Louis Park
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. — The public is invited to the inaugural W.E. (West End) Chalk Festival in St. Louis Park this weekend. The two-day celebration will feature one-of-a-kind creations from local, national and international chalk artists. The event's founder and local artist Shawn McCann joined KARE 11 News at Noon to chalk and talk.
Tollette Joins SJU Hockey’s Coaching Staff
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University head hockey coach Doug Schueller announced the addition of Travis Tollette as his assistant coach on Friday, July 19. A 2013 graduate of Bethel University, Tollette recently served as an assistant coach for the Royals for four seasons from 2018-23. The Andover native coached at the youth, high school – as an assistant coach at Providence Academy for two seasons (2016-18) – and elite league levels for five years. In 2021-22, Tollette helped lead Bethel to its first MIAC playoff appearance in 14 years and the Royals became just the second team defeat U.S. National Under-18 Team in the last 20 years on Oct. 15, 2022 (4-2). "We are very excited to welcome Travis Tollette to the Johnnie Hockey family," Schueller said. "He will bring a wealth of knowledge to our hockey program through his experiences playing and coaching at Bethel. It was very important to me to find someone with experience recruiting to a Division III hockey program and Travis has shown great success in that area.
Woodbury Community Honors Late Former City Council Member Julie Ohs with Flags at Half-Staff
The city of Woodbury is marking a somber occasion this week as it mourns the passing of a dedicated former City Council member. Julie Ohs, who served the community for over a decade, died last month at the age of 61. According to a statement from the city, flags will be flying at half-staff today in her honor.
