Some lanes are closed on Interstate 88 in Chicago's west suburbs Monday afternoon, after a semitrailer crashed and caught fire, Illinois State Police said.State troopers responded about noon to westbound I-88 at Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora for a reported crash between the truck and another vehicle, police said.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Yorkville man charged with leaving accident scene on foot
The Oswego Police Department arrested a Yorkville man and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident on Sunday evening. Police allege that 52-year-old Robert K. Hefner ran a red light at Douglas and Fernwood roads and struck another vehicle that was turning. Hefner then reportedly fled the crash on foot but was located in a nearby parking lot.

New Ulm Police are investigating after they receive a report at 10:43 Tuesday morning from a New Ulm woman who said she was scammed out of $85,000 through an online investment account. The woman told investigators she was told to pay $85,000 in gold. The woman allegedly met a man in a grey Ford Edge in the Walmart parking lot and she turned over the gold to the man. Police are working with the FBI in trying to find the suspect, believed to be a 30-year-old man from Aurora, Illinois. The man was reportedly in the New Ulm area for several days prior to Tuesday.
One hurt in motorized skateboard crash Saturday night in Oswego
The Oswego Police Department says one person was hurt when he crashed into a BMW while riding a motorized skateboard Saturday in the area of Douglas and Longbeach roads. Authorities say 34-year-old James Holod, of Montgomery, was heading north on Douglas Road on a motorized skateboard when he hit a BMW driven by a 53-year-old Oswego man who was heading south on Douglas Road and turning onto Longbeach Road.
