The International Olympic Committee is expected to award the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Games to Salt Lake City on July 24 in Paris. The IOC is expected to vote around 3:30 a.m. MT. And Utahns can watch the announcement live at a party outside the Salt Lake City and County Building.

Youth soccer tournament to bring 30,000 people to Wasatch Back
The Park City Soccer Club runs the annual event. Executive Director Shelley Gillwald said more than 30,000 people will descend on the area this week. She said almost 500 teams will bring about 9,000 players and coaching staff. An additional 25,000 spectators are expected as well. That’s equivalent to the event’s pre-pandemic numbers.
The Hillbilly Thomists to play free show at St. Mary’s Social Hall Friday
The Hillbilly Thomists, a band of Dominican friars who make bluegrass music together, are playing a free show at St. Mary’s Social Hall in Park City on Friday at 6:30 p.m. All eight members are working friars with active ministries/humanitarian causes outside of music — many are university chaplains, one feeds unhoused people in NYC’s Washington Square Park, one is a theology author and president of Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
2024 Kimball Arts Festival offerings detailed ahead of August start
Kimball Art Center announced on Monday the lineup of art activations and experiences for the 2024 Park City Kimball Arts Festival, which will take place August 2-4. Celebrating its 55th year, this three-day, open-air arts festival features the work of nearly 200 jury-selected artists in 13 different mediums. UVU grad with cancer supports Primary Children's Hospital
SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah Valley University graduate battling cancer is providing patients at Primary Children's Hospital with some comfort. "Well, I was just going through all my stuff in my room while I was moving home because I was going to start treatment," said Isabelle Ramos. "I noticed that I had a ton of Squishmallows and so I thought, 'You know, some other kid would rather have this than me.'"
