SANGER, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Sanger High School students who were stolen from earlier this week are braving the heat and selling fireworks to raise money for their boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams.

On Tuesday night, an estimated $25,000 to $35,000 worth of fireworks were allegedly stolen from the Apache wrestling teams’ storage container, according to Head Wrestling Coach Narciso Juarez on a GoFundMe page.

Additionally, Juarez says sales have been down during the second and third of July compared to previous years for what he believes may be due to the heat.

Despite setbacks, Juarez says they are back to being fully restocked and are even selling discounted fireworks.

The Sanger Wrestling fireworks stand will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. The stand can be found just south of Highway 180 at 103 South Academy Avenue.

Those who do not want fireworks but are willing to donate can visit the Apache teams’ GoFundMe page.
