Brush Fire Quickly Contained In  Santa Clarita

A brush fire in Santa Clarita was quickly contained by firefighters Tuesday morning.

The brush fire , dubbed the Norma Fire, was first reported around 10:40 a.m. on Newhall Ranch Road and Santa Clarita Parkway, said Luis Garcia, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

As of 10:45 a.m., the Norma Fire is a 100 by 100 spot fire, with forward progress stopped, according to officials.

No structures are threatened.

Westbound Newhall Ranch Road between Golden Valley Road and Santa Clarita Parkway is closed due to the fire, according to Sheriff’s officials.
