Six Shell Casings Recovered After Reported Shooting In Newhall

Detectives are investigating after at least six shell casings were recovered in a shooting in Newhall Monday night.

Around 10 a.m. Monday, deputies began to receive reports of shots fired near Walnut and 16th Streets in Newhall, said Deputy Robert Jensen, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“A witness reported seeing juveniles running after they heard gun shots,” Jensen said.

Deputies investigating the shooting located at least six spent shell casings, that were gathered for evidence.

As of Tuesday, no arrests have been made, and there is no suspect description other than juveniles.

No one was reported injured.
