Golden Valley Appoints New Baseball Head Coach

Golden Valley High School has announced that Marc Kennedy will be taking over the role of head coach of the baseball team, bringing in years of experience.

Coach Kennedy begins his fourth year on the Grizzlies’ coaching staff and his first as its head coach. He started his coaching career after moving to Santa Clarita in 2007.

In the last seventeen years, Kennedy has built a strong reputation as a top player developer in the valley. Although he loves that aspect of his job, his true passion lies in game management.

This is very apparent when looking at his successes in leading teams of all ages. Whether with local travel teams like ASAP Baseball Academy, Prospect United SoCal or Legacy Baseball Group, to Foothill League teams at Valencia and Golden Valley High schools and even abroad, where he led USA national teams to four consecutive championship games in the Latin American Baseball Classic in the Dominican Republic, he has shown the ability to create a winning culture founded upon a simple principle he calls “embrace the grind.”

Coach Kennedy is excited to get to work at the helm of Grizzly baseball.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity. For 35 years, I’ve made this game my life, and along the way, I’ve been blessed to learn from some of the best minds in this industry,” said Kennedy. “I’m excited to pass that knowledge on to these players.”

When he’s not on the field, Coach Kennedy is a family man. He spends his time with his wife of five years, Shannon and their 3-year-old son, Cooper.
