Man Arrested After Throwing Bat At Vehicle In Canyon Country

A Canyon Country man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly threw a bat at a woman’s car during a verbal argument.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday, deputies received reports of a man swinging a bat on the 27500 block of Sierra Highway in Canyon Country, said Deputy Robert Jensen, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station .

“Less than 5 minutes after the call was dispatched, deputies arrived and discovered a verbal argument took place between the suspect and the victim,” Jensen said.

Through the deputies’ investigation, the suspect allegedly threw an aluminum bat at the victim’s car as she left the area.

Jerry Jenkins, 37, a transient, was arrested for throwing a substance at a vehicle with the intent of causing great bodily injury, Jensen said.

Jenkins was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and was released on a citation to appear in court in August.
