Man arrested for alleged drugging at Santa Cruz County bar

( KRON ) — A Santa Cruz man was arrested last week for allegedly drugging a victim at a local bar, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff’s office said it responded on July 16 to a call from a victim who said they had been drugged by another patron at the bar. An investigation led the sheriff’s office to 33-year-old Christopher Riviello.

He was arrested at a Santa Cruz home. Police are now searching for more victims.

The sheriff’s office declined to identify the bar where the alleged drugging happened, saying a drugging could’ve happened at any bar in the county.

A deputy clarified that while Riviello was charged with multiple felonies, this is not a sexual assault case.
