Residents of an apartment building in Santa Monica say they have been terrorized by a man who walks around completely nude at all hours of the day and night and worry someone could get hurt if the behavior escalates.

People living at an apartment complex on 20 th Street near Pico Boulevard say it’s bad enough that the male resident walks around naked at all hours of the day, but what’s worse is the harassment and racism they face in addition to his screaming obscenities and continually trashing his apartment.

“I see things being thrown out [of his apartment],” a woman who lives in the building who did not want to be identified said. “I’ve seen him defecate in the parking stalls. Whatever he uses to wipe himself, he brings it throughout here.”

Another female resident, who did not want to be identified, said the man often screams racial slurs at her and has walked into her apartment.

“He’s called me slave, B-word, N-word,” she told KTLA’s Mary Beth McDade. “He told me he’s going to kill me.”

Over the Memorial Day holiday, residents said the man began touching himself inappropriately in front of a pool full of children.

“On Memorial Day, we were out here celebrating, and it was belligerent. It was out of control,” the resident who has been subjected to racial slurs said.

The resident who has witnessed the man defecating in the parking garage said that last week, the problem tenant went after a resident’s daughter.

“He jumped in front of her as she was trying to exit out of the building and as she was trying to go around him, he moved closer and jumped in front of her,” she explained. “That’s when he told her that she doesn’t belong in here and she needs to get the F-out of here.”

Upset residents say the owners of the building have done nothing to curb the man’s behavior and that they’ve been forced to call police on several occasions.

After last week’s incident, police did take the man somewhere, with some residents saying it might have been to receive medical treatment, though officials in Santa Monica have not confirmed that to KTLA.

The problem, they say, is that it’s not the first time the man has been carted off by police only to return and start the scary, troublesome behavior all over again.

Brandon Padmore, a resident of the building, explained just how much the man’s aggressive and strange behavior has affected those who live at the complex.

“We’re here waiting for him to come back,” he said. “Can you understand how much anxiety is attached to that?”

Officials at the Santa Monica Police Department told KTLA that they have responded to every call and have taken reports, which they have compiled and turned over to the city attorney, adding that it’s up to the city attorney’s office to determine the next steps.

KTLA reached out to the building’s management for comment but was told they would not provide a statement and told the crew to leave the property.
