Saiko Sake & Sushi Closing Doors In San Diego's North Park After 10 Years In Business
After a decade in business, Saiko Sake & Sushi is closing its doors in San Diego's North Park community. Sushi chef Anthony Pascale opened the original Saiko Sushi in Coronado in 2011 and launched a second outpost in San Diego's North Park in 2014. In late 2020, he teamed up with Chef Uthan Dejcomrunkul, who previously cooked at the Original Sab E Lee and Thai Papaya restaurants, and opened Sovereign Thai adjacent to Fault Line Park in San Diego's East Village.

San Diego's 25-year-old Rei De Gado Brazilian Steakhouse is closed for the foreseeable future following a fire that caused substantial damage. A fire broke out Friday at around 7:27pm in the kitchen of Rei De Gado Brazilian Steakhouse at 939 Fourth Avenue in downtown San Diego. Firefighters Continue Progress On Lightning-Ignited Grove Fire Near Palomar Mountain
Firefighters Sunday continued to make progress containing the 863-acre Grove Fire in a northeastern part of San Diego County which was apparently caused by a lightning spark.
