Sarasota Schools earned its 21st consecutive "A" rating from the state on Wednesday , marking the district's continued achievement following a series of School Board controversies and leadership turnover.

The district also maintained its fifth-place ranking among all 67 of Florida's school districts, trailing only Lafayette, St. Johns, Nassau and Walton counties. The A rating also comes as the school district grew its third-grade reading achievement in 2023-24, a metric generally used to measure literacy.

The state also awards grades to individual schools each year. In Sarasota, 95% of schools achieved an "A" or "B" rating for the 2023-24 school year, the highest percentage in the last several years. A complete list of Sarasota schools and their grades can be found at https://data.heraldtribune.com/school/sarasota/ .
