    Sarasota shooting: Juvenile wounded with non-life-threatening injuries, police say

    Sarasota Police officers are investigating a shooting that left a juvenile injured on Tuesday.

    The shooting happened near the 1800 block of 29th Street at around 5 a.m. A victim, who police officials described as a juvenile, received non-life-threatening injuries from the shooting.

    As of July 30, there have been 15 reported cases of gunshot victims in 2024 in the city of Sarasota, three of which have been classified as homicides by law enforcement.

    Police officials were unable to give information on the events that led up to the shooting or confirm if a suspect had been named.
