Highland County Firefighters Association hosts 2024 Festival of the Bells parade
The Highland County Firefighters Association hosted the 2024 Festival of the Bells parade Saturday, July 6 in uptown Hillsboro. The theme of this year’s parade was “Small Town American Dream,” with numerous fire and life squad vehicles among those participating, as well as the Festival of the Bells committee and queens court.
'Super load' expected to pass through southern Ohio counties on its way to New Albany
Ohio (WCHS) — A super load is set to make their way through southern Ohio counties starting Monday on a trip that will span over a week, officials say. The load will be on the road for over nine days as it travels from a dock near Manchester in Adams County, passing through Scioto County as it makes its way to New Albany in Licking County, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Hillsboro Library hosting 16 local authors
A total of 16 local authors will be at the Hillsboro library’s annual Local Author Night on Wednesday, July 17, from 5-7 p.m. “This is always one of our favorite events,” said circulation manager Sarah Davidson. “We have so much talent in the area, and we love having the chance to celebrate it.
