The Blood Connection launches mixed reality blood donation experience

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Blood Connection (TBC) will launch a mixed reality experience to improve the donation experience, help attract new donors, and cultivate the next generation of blood donors.

From July 8-12, TBC, in partnership with Abbott and Blood Centers of America, will introduce the Microsoft Hololens 2 headsets to blood donors in Savannah.

The Microsoft HoloLens 2 merges physical and digital worlds throughout the blood donation. Donors that utilize the new, hands-free, headsets will be immersed in an interactive garden experience that allows them to plant seeds and cultivate a blooming garden while listening to music and remaining aware of their real-world surrounding.

The donation experience will be at TBC Savannah Donation Center located at 1915 E. Victory Drive Suite 2A.
