    Vote for the best high school football venue in Savannah area in an open poll

    With the high school football season set to start in about five weeks, fans will be filling the stands under the lights on Friday nights to see their favorite teams in action.

    There are some spots in the Greater Savannah area known as the perfect venue to see all the action, and we've got a list of the top stadiums in the Coastal Empire.

    Fans can weigh in and vote for their favorites in an open poll with no restrictions on the voting. The poll closes on Monday, July 15, at 11 a.m.

    Here are the top football venues in the Greater Savannah area.

    Best high school football venue in Greater Savannah area

    Hokey Jackson Stadium

    The home of the Bradwell Institute Tigers is named after the coach who led the program to its only state championship in 1965.

    Donell Woods Stadium

    The home of the Liberty County Panthers was named after a former Panther alum, teacher and coach.

    Mustang Stadium, "The Corral"

    South Effingham's home field is known as a tough place to play for opposing programs.

    Rebel Field at Bob Griffith Stadium

    The home field for Effingham County was dedicated to a longtime coach, the late Bob Griffith, in 2022. The venue will host the cross-county rivalry with South Effingham this season on Sept. 20.

    Wildcat Stadium

    The venue is packed with a great atmosphere whenever Richmond Hill hosts under the lights on Friday nights.

    Pooler Stadium

    The home for Savannah Christian, New Hampstead and a host site for other SCCPSS programs opened in 2015. New Hampstead will face off against SCPS on Aug. 23, with SCPS considered the home team on Aug. 23.

    Specialty Sports Complex

    The home for Calvary Day was refurbished with a new turf field and scoreboard before the 2018 season.

    Memorial Stadium

    The venue opened in 1960 and was the setting for countless memorable battles . It was rebuilt and reopened as a state of the art facility in 2018. The site is the home field for Benedictine, Jenkins and a host of other SCCPSS programs.

    Islands Stadium

    The facility across the street from Islands High on Whitemarsh Island opened in 2000 and serves as the home for the Sharks while hosting a number of other games, and sports, for the SCCPSS.

    Saunders Field

    The home of Savannah Country Day features a natural grass surface. It was named in honor of SCD's legendary coach Bill Saunders, who led the Hornets for 23 seasons and won a state crown in 1969.

    Savannah High Stadium

    Another venue opened by the SCCPSS through ESPLOST tax dollars, the stadium, which also features an all-weather track, opened for football in 2022. It serves as the home field for Savannah High and hosts a number of games featuring SCCPSSS programs.

    Redskins Stadium

    The home of Bryan County has been packed on Friday nights recently as the program has its best season ever last season ― reaching the Class A Division I state semis under coach Cherard Freeman.

    St. Andrew's Stadium

    The home of the St. Andrew's Lions program is a natural grass facility on Wilmington Island.

    Floyd Morris Field

    The turf field at Daffin Park is more well known for hosting high school soccer matchups, but it has served as the home field for Bethesda Academy for the last few years. Bethesda is in the process of constructing a new stadium on its campus.
