It's Week Three of the high school football season in Georgia, and there are several big games on the docket for teams in the Greater Savannah area.

Benedictine is back in Savannah looking for its first win of the season after the Cadets dropped a game against Rabun Gap, followed by a 29-28 setback on the road against a Buford squad that was the No. 1 ranked team in Class 6A. Benedictine, ranked No. 4 by the AJC among Class 4A teams in the state, hosts Burke County at Memorial Stadium tonight.

New Hampstead (1-1) is on the road against Effingham County, which lost a close one on the road to Houston County last week, while Savannah Christian (2-0) hosts Providence Christian . Calvary Day (1-0) travels to South Carolina to face Oceanside Collegiate after a bye week.

In other public school action, Richmond Hill hosts an Everglades squad from Florida with a 6 p.m. kickoff, while Windsor Forest looks to make it a 2-0 start to the season as the Knights face Liberty County in a Region 3-3A game at Islands High.
