When one comes across the Court Street Bridge into Owego you see a stately monument. It kind of says, “I stand here guarding the entryway into my village, Welcome!” It was placed there in honor of the service the men of Tioga County gave during the Civil War.

Nichols town board votes to close Carriage House museum at end of Bicentennial celebration
Tensions were high at the Nichols town board meeting Tuesday night as the board took action to amend what deputy town supervisor Brenda Fay-Pelotte described as a “deficiency” found by the town’s attorney. To do so, board members approved a resolution that will close the Nichols Historical Museum by Nov. 30, 2024.
Government Services Expo shines a spotlight on Tioga County
A new event in the community, the Tioga County Government Services Expo, was held on June 21. The four-hour event, held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., welcomed the public to meet officials and personnel who represent and work at various offices within Tioga County. The Expo featured a snapshot of the services available to county residents.
Pick Owego To Prepare Unique Map
