Groovy Playground Closed Amid Dispute
OCEAN GROVE - As of today, a sign hanging on the gate of the playground called Groovy Playground on the west side of Fletcher Lake states "CLOSED As per Neptune Township, they are no longer responsible for maintaining the Childrens Playground park. In the absence of an agreement with the Township, OCGMA (sic) has closed this area until further notice." According to Monmouth County tax data, this parcel of land, identified as Block 101/Lot 9, on which the playground is located, is property owned by Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. This property is valued at $891,400 and last year, OGCMA paid $16,353.41 in taxes for this parcel.
