Fireworks in Wausau as Chucks Defeat Dock Spiders
Wausau, WI – Fireworks in Wausau as the Woodchucks increase the streak to five, defeating the Dock Spiders 10-3. Johnny Amonica (Keiser) made his first start of the season for the Woodchucks and set a new season high in innings-pitched at 5.0. Amonica also struck out three, his second-best of the season. He allowed just 3 runs, and picked up his first win of the season.
Heartbreak in Wausau as Dock Spiders Take Game Two
Wausau, WI – The Dock Spiders defeated the Wausau Woodchucks, 4-1. It is just the fourth home loss of the season. Sebastian Escobar (Central Methodist University) made his NWL debut tonight for the Chucks. He went 5.0 innings pitched and struck out 5. He walked just two batters. David Brown (Oklahoma-Tonkawa) also made his debut tonight. Brown went 3.0 innings and struck out 3, allowing no runs and no walks.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Imagine playing hockey while riding a bike. Sounds difficult, doesn’t it? Well, put those two together, and it makes a unique sport called bike polo. Instead of a hockey stick, each player has a mallet. One side is used to scoop the ball, while the other is used to hit it. The scooping side makes it more difficult for opponents to get to the ball.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - On ‘715 Night’ at Athletic Park, celebrating their area code, the Woodchucks returned home for the first time in over a week to defeat the Green Bay Rockers 12-4. Wausau got things going early with Edian Espinal’s two-run home run in the first inning. Fast forward to the top of the third, Adiel Melendez walked back-to-back Green Bay batters with the bases loaded each time to ultimately tie the game. The following frame, the Woodchucks jumped back ahead with Bryce Hubbard bringing in Espinal, who stole consecutive stolen bases just before, off a sacrifice RBI.
Wausau Post 10 Legion baseball drops final two games at Gopher Classic
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. – The Wausau Post 10 Legion baseball team dropped its final two games at the three-team Gopher Classic, losing to Lincoln (Neb.) Carpet Land 14-8 and Rock Island (Ill.) Post 200 8-4. Wausau led 7-0 after two innings against Lincoln but couldn’t hold on, as the Bulldogs gave up 14 unanswered runs from the third through seventh innings.
Rafters Fall Behind Early, Drop Road Contest in Wausau
WAUSAU, Wis. – The Rafters were unable to recover Sunday afternoon in Wausau after the Woodchucks put up a six spot in the home half of the first inning. Following a strong start in the first, Wausau added two runs per frame throughout the rest of the ballgame. The 20 runs for the Woodchucks were the most scored by the team in a game this season.
