1 dead, 1 injured in ATV crash
One person is dead and a second person was seriously injured in an ATV crash that appears to have involved alcohol, police said. The crash was reported at about 8:30 a.m. on July 20 at the Tigerton OHV Park and Campground in Shawano County. Police Chief Michael Weatherwax said an employee found the two victims and CPR was in progress when rescue crews arrived on scene.
Evergreen 5K marks 45 years
The 45th-annual Evergreen Road Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 in Park Falls. The event kicks off Saturday activities as part of the 71st-annual Flambeau Rama.The race start and finish lines will be in front of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, located at 276 S 5th Ave,. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the race starting at 10 a.m., rain or shine. Pre-registration for t-shirts has passed but race registration will be accepted through Friday, July 26 at a cost of $10. Same day registration will be $25. Medals will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers in each class. Professional timing will be overseen by Tortoise and Hare Race Management. There were 102 registered participants in the 2023 Evergreen 5K.
