KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo man who pleaded guilty to the abuse of his child—including admitting to squeezing the child's head and throwing him—was sentenced Monday. Paul Preston was charged with five counts of first-degree child abuse dating back to 2023. He pleaded guilty in June to two of those counts, and was sentenced to a minimum of five years in prison with a credit for 405 days served.

A Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted 25-year-old Kimani Rasheed Wactor for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in May 2023. Car rolls after going down steep embankment, driver injured
A crash reduced U.S. Highway 15-501 to one lane in Eastwood on Monday evening, sending a woman to the hospital. First responders from Eastwood Fire Department arrived on the scene near Doubs Chapel Road around 7:20 p.m. They climbed down a steep embankment to the heavily damaged car to help the driver out of the vehicle.
