A semi-truck leaking diesel fuel closed portions of northbound Hayden Road in south Scottsdale on Wednesday afternoon, according to Scottsdale firefighters.

Both lanes of northbound Hayden Road were closed starting at Monte Vista Road, just south of the accident.

At 4:19 p.m., Scottsdale police said Hayden Road was open as fire crews contained the hazardous materials situation.

At 12:17 p.m., a van reportedly struck a semi-truck near Hayden Road and Cypress Street causing a large amount of diesel fuel to leak onto the ground, the Scottsdale Fire Department said on X, formerly Twitter.

Phoenix and Scottsdale firefighters were on-scene treating the leak as a hazmat situation. There were no reports of injuries, Scottsdale Fire Department said.
