SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man is in custody after allegedly threatening to attack his wife with a chainsaw.

According to the Lackawanna County Communication Center, a male was inside the house trying to break through the bedroom door and had a chainsaw.

Police said upon entry they located and detained 59-year-old Paul J Noone.

Court documents state the argument started upstairs over Noone trying to upset the other tenants by cutting their electricity to the building.

The victim states she locked herself in the bedroom when she saw Noone walk upstairs with a chainsaw threatening to chop her head off, police noted.

As stated in the affidavit, officers found a Husqvarna chainsaw and a cut mark on the door when they arrived.

Police have charged Noone with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, and unlawful restraint.
