Police arrest burglar who impersonated a priest at Queens parish earlier this year
BAYSIDE/QUEENS — POLICE ARRESTED THE MAN WHO IMPERSONATED A PRIEST and robbed a church rectory in Bayside, reports the Daily News. The NYPD on Thursday arrested Rostas Malin, 45, who was charged in Queens Criminal Court with burglary and petit larceny in the March 3 scam. The man had claimed to a visiting priest and used that pretext to enter the rectory of American Martyrs RC Church, and stole $900 in cash from a real priest living in the rectory. The parish is within the Diocese of Brooklyn, which includes Queens.
